The FOS proteins have been implicated as important regulators ofcell proliferation, differentiation and transformation. FOS also plays a critical function in regulating thedevelopment of cells destined to form and maintain the skeleton. In some cases, FOS expression hasbeen associated with apoptotic cell death.
