Rabbit polyclonal to EOMES.Eomesodermin homolog (EOMES) functions as a transcriptional activator playing a crucial role duringdevelopment. EOMES functions in trophoblast differentiation and later in gastrulation, regulating bothmesoderm delamination and endoderm specification. EOMES plays a role in brain development andis required for the specification and the proliferation of the intermediate progenitor cells and theirprogeny in the cerebral cortex. EOMES is also involved in the differentiation of CD8+ T-cells duringimmune response regulating the expression of lytic effector genes. EOMES is expressed in CD8+ Tcellsand is up-regulated in CD8+ T-cells upon activation.
