Rabbit polyclonal to CX3CR1.CX3C chemokine receptor 1 (CX3CR1) is a multi-pass membrane protein that belongs to the Gproteincoupled receptor 1 family, which is expressed in lymphoid and neural tissues. CX3CR1 is areceptor for the CX3C chemokine fractalkine and mediates both its adhesive and migratory functions.CX3CR1 acts as a coreceptor with CD4 for HIV-1 virus envelope protein. Variations in CX3CR1 areassociated with rapid progression to AIDS. Defects in CX3CR1 are a cause of susceptibility to agerelatedmacular degeneration type 12 (ARMD12).
