The CCR4-NOT complex functions as ageneral transcriptional regulator. It regulates mRNA synthesis and degradation and is also thought tobe involved in mRNA splicing, transport and localization. CNOT2 interacts with histone deacetylasesand functions as a repressor of polymerase II transcription.
