It plays acrucial role in both the control of female development and the prevention of testes formation.Overexpression of WNT4 may be associated with abnormal proliferation in human breast tissue.Mutations in WNT4 may result in Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser syndrome and SERKAL syndrome.
