Description | Rabbit polyclonal to SYT5.Synaptotagmins, such as SYT5, are a family of type III membrane proteins characterized bycytoplasmic repeats related to protein kinase C regulatory (C-term2) domains, which are thought to bindcalcium. Synaptotagmins may be involved in Ca2+-dependent exocytosis of secretory vesicles throughCa2+ and phospholipid binding to the C2 domain or may serve as Ca2+ sensors in the process ofvesicular trafficking and exocytosis. SYT5 regulates the Ca2+-dependent secretion of norepinephrinein PC12 cells. SYT5 is also required for export from the endocytic recycling comparent to the cellsurface. |
