Description | Rabbit polyclonal to STAT5B.Signal transducer and activator of transcription 5B (STAT5B) belongs to the transcription factor STATfamily. STAT5B carries out a dual function: signal transduction and activation of transcription.STAT5B is tyrosine phosphorylated in response to signaling via activated KIT, resulting in itstranslocation to the nucleus, where it binds to the GAS element in DNA and activates PRL-inducedtranscription. STAT5B mediates cellular responses to the cytokine KITLG/SCF and other growthfactors. Defects in STAT5B are the cause of growth hormone insensitivity with immunodeficiency(GHII). |
