Description | Rabbit polyclonal to SATB1.Special AT-rich sequence-binding protein 1 (SATB1) is a chromatin organizer and transcription factorthat integrates chromatin architecture with gene regulation. SATB1 binds to nuclear matrix/scaffoldassociatingAT-rich DNA sequences (MARs/SARs). It has been shown that SATB1 interacts withpromyelocytic leukemia protein (PML), and that SATB1 and PML function as a regulatory complexthat controls transcription by restructuring the dynamic chromatin-loop architecture. SATB1 isimplicated as a key regulator of the differentiation and activation of T cells. In cancer, SATB1 hasbeen shown to reprogram chromatin organization and the transcription profiles of breast tumors topromote growth and metastasis. |
