Precipitating polyclonal rabbit antiserum to human cortisol binding globulin (transcortin). Cortisol binding globulin is an alpha 1 glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 55,700. It is bonding and transporting cortisol in plasma. The mean concentration in adult serum is about 50 mg/ml. Elevated levels are observed in pregnancy. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
