• Source: Beta-2 microglobulin is a member of the Immunoglobulin superfamily. The amino acid sequence resembles that of immunoglobulin constant domains. It is isolated from urine of patients with impaired readsorption in the kidney tubules. High levels of beta-2 microglobulin are as present in cord blood serum and foetal serum. The host animal is immunised with highly purified beta-2 microglobulin. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
