Rabbit polyclonal to PTPN6.Tyrosine-protein phosphatase non-receptor type 6 (PTPN6) is also known as Protein-tyrosinephosphatase 1C (PTP1C) or SHP-1, which belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family, nonreceptorclass 2 subfamily. PTPN6 contains one tyrosine-protein phosphatase domain and two SH2domains. PTPN6 modulates signaling by tyrosine phosphorylated cell surface receptors such as KITand the EGF receptor/EGFR, and plays a key role in hematopoiesis. The SH2 regions of PTPN6 mayinteract with other cellular components to modulate its own phosphatase activity against interactingsubstrates.
