Rabbit polyclonal to NUMB.NUMB is a membrane-bound protein that has been shown to associate with EPS15, LNX1, andNOTCH1. NUMB is required throughout embryonic neurogenesis to maintain neural progenitor cells,also called radial glial cells GCs), by allowing their daughter cells to choose progenitor overneuronal cell fate. NUMB is not required for the proliferation of neural progenitor cells before the onsetof neurogenesis. NUMB is also involved postnatally in the subventricular zone (SVZ) neurogenesis byregulating SVZ neuroblasts survival and ependymal wall integrity. In addition, NUMB may mediatelocal repair of brain ventricular wall damage.
