Rabbit polyclonal to JARID2.Jumonji/ARID domain-containing protein 2 (JARID2) is a regulator of histone methyltransferasecomplexes that plays an essential role in embryonic development, including heart and liverdevelopment, neural tube fusion process and hematopoiesis. JARID2 acts by modulating histonemethyltransferase activity and promoting the recruient of histone methyltransferase complexes totheir target genes. JARID2 binds to DNA and mediates the recruient of the PRC2 complex to targetgenes in embryonic stem cells, and plays a key role in differentiation of embryonic stem cells andnormal development. JARID2 does not have histone demethylase activity but regulates activity ofvarious histone methyltransferase complexes.
