  Gymnemagenin has a poor oral bioavailability (~ 14 %) in rats. Gymnemagenin has a short half-life and a high clearance in rats. Gymnemagenin metabolizes rapidly with a short apparent and intrinsic half-life (~ 7 min) and high intrinsic clearance.
