• Description: IgG fraction of polyclonal rabbit antiserum to mouse IgA, Fc specific. As secondary reagent for indirect detection of IgA at the cellular and subcellular level by staining of appropriately treated cell and tissue substrates; to prepare conjugates of the user's own choice; to prepare an insoluble immunoaffinity adsorbent or a solid phase antibody reagent by coupling to an artificial carrier and as catching antibody in non- isotopic methodology and solid phase immunochemistry. Typical working dilutions in histochemistry are usually between 1:50 and 1:250; in ELISA and comparable non-precipitating antibody-binding assays between 1:500 and 1:5.000. When applied in any cytochemical or histochemical staining procedure or solid phase coupling technique, the optimum concentration of the IgG preparation should be established by titration before being used.

• Application notes: Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to animal proteins since homolo- gous proteins of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. This antiserum has not been adsorbed for such cross-reactivity. Consequently it is not species-specific.IE: In immunoelectrophoresis use 2 μl serum or equivalent against 120 μl antiserum. In double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) use a rosette arrangement with 10 ulantiserum in 3 mm diameter center well and 2 μl serum samples (neat and serially diluted in 2 mm diameter peripheral wells.
