Rabbit polyclonal to EZH2.Enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) belongs to the Polycomb-group (PcG) family. Members from this family form multimeric protein complexes, which play a role in maintaining the transcriptional repressive state of genes over successive cell generations. EZH2 interacts with the embryonic ectoderm development protein, the VAV1 oncoprotein, and the X-linked nuclear protein. The complex it forms with EED/PRC2 promotes the methylation of Lys-9 and Lys-27 of histone H3, which in turn leads to the transcriptional repression of the target genes.
