DescriptionTCR alpha V24-J18 chain is a marker of invariant NK T cells (iNKT). This chain pairs mostly with TCR beta V11 chain, and together they interact with glycolipide-loaded CD1d. This interaction results in iNKT activation and cytokine production (IFN gamma, IL-4, IL-13), which takes important part in immune regulation and host response to pathogens and cancer(support of both Th1 and Th2 way), although iNKT cells represent less than 1% of total peripheral T cells.
