DescriptionCD92 is a 70 kDa protein with ten transmembrane domains, intracellular N and C teminus, and two glycosylated larger extracellular loops. In the C-terminal domain, there is an ITIM-like sequence. This protein seems to be a choline transporter responsible for delivery of choline into the immune cells, to make it accessible for phospholipid synthesis, as well as a regulator of immune cell signaling. It is expressed mainly on human peripheral blood monocytes and neutrophils, and several myeloid and T-cell lines. It can also be found on mast cells (but not eosinophils), and weakly on peripheral blood lymphocytes, fibroblasts, epithelial cells, and endothelial cells.
