Bioactivity

• In Vivo:
  SMBA1 (2, 10, 40, 60 mg/kg; intraperitoneal injection; once daily for 10 days) exhibited antitumor activity in mice.
• In Vitro:
  SMBA1 exhibited Bax agonist activity by inhibiting the phosphorylation of S184, promoting the insertion of Bax into the mitochondrial membrane and the formation of Bax oligomers, and thereby inducing conformational changes in Bax. SMBA1 (0, 0.1, 1, 5, 10 µM; 24 hr) potentiated Bax expression in a dose-dependent manner in A549 cells.
