Description

Two monoclonal antibodies (MAbs), reactive with the external envelope glycoprotein of the simian immunodeficiency virus of macaque monkey and displaying a cellfree virus-neutralizing activity, were generated. Epitope mapping of these MAbs permitted to delineate a neutralizing domain localized in the second variable region of the SIVmac251 gp105, between amino acids 171 and 188. This domain is enclosed in the above sequence.
