Bioactivity

• In Vivo:
  In a high-fat diet-induced atherosclerosis (AS) rat model, (Rac)-Salvianic acid A (3 mg/kg or 10 mg/kg, orally administered once daily for 6 consecutive weeks) inhibited inflammatory responses and oxidative stress, demonstrating protective effects against atherosclerosis .
• In Vitro:
  (Rac)-Salvianic acid A (6-36 μM, 24 hours) exhibited a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on LPS-induced decrease in vascular endothelial cell activity . (Rac)-Salvianic acid A (10 or 20 μM, 24 hours) could inhibit lipopolysaccharide (HY-D1056)-induced apoptosis of vascular endothelial cells, and its mechanism of action was achieved by regulating glutathione peroxidase activity and malondialdehyde levels .
