Description | GPllb is composed of a 125 Kd heavy chain and a 23 Kd light chain linked by disulfide bonds. Hydrophilic analysis of cDNA sequences revealed that GPllb was anchored to platelets by a single transmembrane domain of 20 amino acids located at the C-terminus of the light chain. The GPllb-IIa complex is a Ca2+-dependent heterodimer found in activated platelets that can bind to one of four different adhesive proteins, namely fibrinogen, fibronectin, von Willebrand factor, or vitronectin. |
