Bioactivity

• In Vivo:
  Pilloin (10 mg/kg, i.p.) significantly reduced the expression levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α and IL-6 in the serum of LPS-induced septic C57BL/6 male mice. At the same time, Pilloin also markedly inhibited IL-6 expression in multiple organs (liver, lung, spleen, and kidney).

  Pilloin (3–30 μM, 1–24 hours) significantly inhibited the transcriptional activity of NF-κB and the phosphorylation of its upstream regulatory protein IκB in bacterial LPS-induced RAW 264.7 cells, while only causing slight cytotoxicity at 30 μM, with a cell survival rate of 85% .
