Methyl (Z)-ferulate

SKU: orb3179520

Description

Methyl (Z)-ferulate (Me cis-ferulate) (cis-Ferulic acid methyl ester) functions as an intrinsic germination self-inhibitor. It can be extracted from the leaves of Tetragonia tetragonoides. This compound reversibly inhibits the digestion of the plug by modulating pre-existing enzyme activity, thereby preventing rust spore germination in rust fungi. Additionally, Methyl (Z)-ferulate exhibits antioxidant properties, effectively scavenging DPPH and ABTS+ free radicals.
