Description

Low molecular weight protamine (LMWP) is a truncated arginine-rich protamine peptide that functions as both a heparin/low-molecular-weight heparin antidote and a cell-penetrating delivery vehicle. LMWP neutralizes heparin-induced anticoagulant activities, including aPTT, anti-Xa, and anti-IIa activities. It can traverse mammalian cell membranes, delivering conjugated impermeable molecules across tumor tissues, enhancing epidermal growth factor (EGF) permeability in the skin, and accelerating wound healing when conjugated with EGF. LMWP retains the in vitro cell proliferation activity of conjugated EGF and enables site-specific coupling with peptides or proteins via genetic recombination. This compound is applicable in research related to colon cancer, skin wounds, and diabetic skin wounds.
