  In a time-dependent manner, JNJ-1289 inhibits hSMOX activity, with assessments at 0 and 2 hours. Initially, JNJ-1289 forms a weak complex with hSMOX, characterized by an apparent Ki value of 1.4 μM. Subsequently, a relatively slow protein isomerization occurs, leading to the formation of the final tightly bound inhibitor-enzyme complex.
