• In Vitro:
  Jatrorrhizine hydroxide exhibits antimalarial and antiamebic activities, demonstrating inhibitory effects against both Plasmodium falciparum and E. histolytica, with IC50 values of 3.15 µM and 82.7 µM, respectively . At concentrations of 25 μM and 50 μM, Jatrorrhizine hydroxide significantly inhibits the uptake of serotonin and norepinephrine in synaptosomes .
