• In Vivo:
  METHODS: To study in vivo activity, Harringtonine (0.5-4 mg/mouse) was injected retroorbital into C57B-/- mice. Results: Within 5 min, Harringtonine completely depleted multimers in All organs except testis and brain, and it took up to 30 min to significantly reduc the number of multimers due to the blood-brain and blood-testis barriers.
• In Vitro:
  Harringtonine inhibit the elongation phase of translation by preventing substratee binding to the acceptor site o the 60-S ribosome subunit, blocking aminoacyl-tRNA binding and peptide bond formation. It displays potent Inhibition of Chikungunya virus infection (EC50: 0.24 μM) and could inhibit Other alphaviruses. Additionally, Harringtonine inhibit the growth of human myeloid leukemia cells in vitro at low concentration .
