  GYKI-47261 dihydrochloride (200 mg/kg orally) is highly active in transient focal ischemia models. Antiischemic effect of GYKI-47261 dihydrochloride (6 mg/kg iv) in rats with transient focal cerebral ischemia. GYKI-47261 dihydrochloride effectively alleviates tremor induced by oxotremorine, a cholinergic agonist, in the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
• In Vitro:
  GYKI-47261 dihydrochloride inhibits AMPA or rhodosine-induced whole cell currents in isolated neurons.
