Biorbyt’s Cell Cycle and Apoptosis Analysis Kit is a cell cycle and apoptosis analysis kit based on propidium iodide (PI) staining, designed for detection via flow cytometry. The principle behind this kit is that PI binds specifically to double-stranded DNA, and the fluorescence intensity is directly proportional to DNA content, thereby distinguishing cells in different phases of the cell cycle (G0/G1 phase, S phase, G2/M phase). During apoptosis, partial DNA loss occurs due to nuclear condensation and DNA fragmentation; apoptotic cells exhibit weak staining, forming a characteristic Sub-G1 peak in the flow cytometry fluorescence profile, thereby enabling the detection of apoptosis.
