Description

Caspase-3/7 activator 4 serves as an activator for caspase-3 and caspase-7. It effectively inhibits key enzymes in estrogen biosynthesis, including aromatase (IC50 = 38.3 nM) and steroid sulfatase (IC50 = 12.7 µM), and selectively inhibits COX-2 (IC50 = 5.38 µM). This compound exhibits strong antioxidant activity (DPPH: IC50 = 16.26 µM). Caspase-3/7 activator 4 reduces estrogen synthesis and availability, lowers prostaglandin production, upregulates caspase-3/7 expression, induces G0/G1 cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, decreases circulating levels of TNF-α and VEGFR-II, restores markers of liver and kidney function along with tissue structure, reestablishes antioxidant enzyme activity, mitigates lipid peroxidation, and demonstrates antiproliferative effects on breast cancer cells as well as antitumor activity in the Ehrlich ascites carcinoma model. It is used in research on breast cancer and Ehrlich ascites carcinoma.
