Biotin-PEG24-epoxomicin

SKU: orb3218433

Description

Biotin-PEG24-epoxomicin (iBEp) is a probe molecule consisting of biotin conjugated to the epoxyketone proteasome inhibitor epoxomicin via a hydrophilic polyethylene glycol (PEG24) linker containing 24 ethylene glycol units. The long PEG chain renders the compound highly hydrophilic and cell-impermeant. This design allows it to specifically label and inhibit proteasome activity on the extracellular surface or in the membrane fraction, without entering intact cells to interfere with intracellular proteasome function. Therefore, it is widely used as a "non-cell-permeable" control tool in studies of proteasome inhibition.
