AVE 0991 is a non-peptide, orally active Mas receptor agonist that mimics Angiotensin-(1-7). It binds competitively to the Mas receptor with an IC₅₀ of 21 nM, as demonstrated in bovine aortic endothelial cell membrane assays. This compound is a valuable research tool for studying the cardiovascular and renal protective effects of the ACE2/Ang-(1-7)/Mas axis in both in vitro and in vivo models.
