Apoptosis/necroptosis inducer 1 is an orally active compound with the ability to penetrate the brain and induce apoptosis (apoptosis) and necroptosis (necroptosis). It triggers apoptosis through mitochondrial-dependent (intrinsic pathway) activation and induces necroptosis via activation of the TNF-α/NF-κB/MAPK signaling pathways. This compound exhibits antiproliferative activity in glioblastoma cell lines and various solid tumors, suppresses the growth of orthotopic glioblastoma in animal models, and improves survival rates. Apoptosis/necroptosis inducer 1 can be utilized for glioblastoma research.
