Acivicin hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt of the natural glutamine analog Acivicin. It acts as a potent inhibitor of γ-glutamyltransferase (GGT) and L-asparagine synthetase, blocking nucleotide biosynthesis. This cytotoxic mechanism has been investigated in vitro and in vivo for cancer research, particularly in studies targeting glutamine-dependent metabolic pathways.
