Acetylethylcholine mustard hydrochloride is an irreversible inhibitor of choline acetyltransferase (IC50 = 1.22 mM) and the high-affinity choline transporter. It acts as a long-acting presynaptic cholinergic neurotoxin, useful for studying acetylcholine synthesis and cholinergic function in both in vitro and in vivo experimental models.
