Ac-DEVD-CHO is a potent inhibitor of caspase-3 (IC) cleavage polyADP ribose polymerase (PARP) ₅₀ = 0.2 nM). PARP cleavage occurs at the onset of apoptosis. Peptidophiles are able to attenuate apoptosis events in vitro (IC₅₀=10 to 100 nM).
