Description

17β-HSD10-IN-4 is a brain-penetrant selective inhibitor of 17β-HSD10 with an IC50 of 6.33 μM. It functionally inhibits the enzyme by forming key interactions with the catalytic triad of 17β-HSD10 without altering its protein levels. This compound restores mitochondrial function, reduces ROS levels, increases ATP production, and inhibits cytochrome c release. Moreover, 17β-HSD10-IN-4 mitigates CDK5/p25 activation, reduces Tau protein hyperphosphorylation and Aβ plaque burden, and restores brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels. It improves cognitive function and is applicable in Alzheimer's disease research.
