Description

This product is supplied as whole rabbit antiserum rather than an affinity-purified IgG preparation. It is a delipidated, heat-inactivated, lyophilized antiserum with total protein and IgG levels comparable to those of normal rabbit serum. As a result, the preparation contains serum components in addition to the anti-transferrin antibodies. Applications: Precipitation assays.

• Dilution Range: For immunoelectrophoresis, use 2 μL of serum (or equivalent) against 120 μL of antiserum. For double radial immunodiffusion, use a rosette arrangement: add 10 μL of antiserum to a 3 mm diameter central well, and add 2 μL of serum samples (undiluted and serially diluted) to 2 mm diameter peripheral wells. This antiserum has not been tested in more sensitive assays as nephelometry, ELISA or use in immunohistology, but this does not exclude such use if proper controls are included.
