Rabbit polyclonal to GRP78.78 kDa glucose-regulated protein (GRP78) belongs to the heat shock protein 70 family. It is localizedin the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), and is involved in the folding and assembly ofproteins in the ER. It is a component of an EIF2 complex. GRP78 is part of a large chaperonemultiprotein complex comprising DNAJB11, HSP90B1, HSPA5, HYOU, PDIA2, PDIA4, PDIA6, PPIB,SDF2L1, UGT1A1 and low levels of ERP29. It is an autoantigen in rheumatoid arthritis.
