Bioactivity

• In Vivo:
  Bismuth Subsalicylate is metabolized in the gastrointestinal tract into salicylic acid and insoluble bismuth salts. It inhibits Prostaglandin G/H Synthase 1/2 (cyclooxygenase-1/2, COX-1/2), thereby reducing inflammation and irritation of the gastric and intestinal mucosa.
