RPH-2823

SKU: orb1706080

Description

RPH-2823 is a basic derivative of amphotericin that functions as a diuretic and natriuretic agent while conserving potassium. It demonstrates dose-dependent effects by reducing short-circuit current and elevating transepithelial resistance in epithelial models. This profile supports its research use in studying renal physiology and ion transport mechanisms in both in vitro and in vivo settings.

Bioactivity

In Vivo
Avoiding the kaliuresis of 25 mumol/kg furosemide in male Wistar rats, RPH 2823 (2.5 mumol/kg) demonstrates its efficacy. RPH 2823 (1 mg/kg and 5 mg/kg, i.v.) exhibits a terminal elimination half-life of 3 h, with approximately 47% of the administered dose being excreted unchanged in the urine.
In Vitro
Interacting with the Na+ channel or a regulator site within the apical membrane, RPH-2823 influences transepithelial Na+ transport.
