β-Muricholic Acid (Standard)

SKU: orb3141038

Description

β-Muricholic Acid (Standard) is a reference standard for research and analysis in studies involving β-Muricholic Acid. β-Muricholic acid (β-MCA) is a primary bile acid unique to rodents. Administering β-MCA through diet can reduce the activity of HMG-CoA reductase in the liver microsomes of mice fed with high cholesterol and chenodeoxycholic acid diets. Giving β-MCA can also cause 100% of the cholesterol-containing gallstones in the diet-induced gallstone model to dissolve.
