Bioactivity

• In Vivo:
  Juncusol (2.5, 5 mg/kg) increased the duration of open arms (OT) stay and the duration of entry into OE in the elevated positive maze test, showing antianxiety activity.
• In Vitro:
  In HeLa cells, the IC50 of Juncusol was 0.95 μM. Juncusol significantly inhibited the growth of HeLa cells, but had no effect on CaSki and SiHa cells. Juncusol (3 μM, 48h) resulted in a significant increase in G2/M phase HeLa cells, while a decrease in G1 phase Hela cells. Juncusol induces cell death through a caspase-dependent pathway. Juncusol (200 μM) decreased the polymerization rate of tubulin in HeLa cells.
