BODIPY-aminoacetaldehyde diethyl acetal (BAAA-DA) is a cell-permeable fluorescent probe precursor used to detect aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) activity. Upon intracellular conversion to BODIPY-aminoacetate (BAA), it enables the identification and isolation of stem cells, including hematopoietic progenitors and cancer stem cells, via flow cytometry in both in vitro and in vivo research.
