Primary Antibodies

Primary antibodies are proteins produced by the immune system in response to the presence of an antigen such as a protein, peptide, or carbohydrate. As antigens recognize antigens specifically, with high affinity, they are useful tools in research to detect, purify and quantify proteins. Primary antibodies are used in a wide range of laboratory techniques to detect and measure the presence of specific antigens in a sample, such as ELISA, Western Blot, and immunofluorescence microscopy.
