Dynarrestin is a reversible aminothiazole inhibitor of cytoplasmic dynein 1 and 2. It blocks dynein 1-mediated microtubule motility in vitro and disrupts intracellular dynein-dependent transport without impairing ATPase activity or ciliogenesis. This tool compound is used to study dynein functions in processes like viral trafficking and organelle positioning in both cellular and biochemical assays.
