In Vivo
In rat liver microsomes, Alizarin can inhibit the oxidation of phenoxy radicals, superoxide anion radicals, and lipid peroxides.
In Vitro
Within the bodies of poisoned animals, Alizarin has been shown to reduce the levels of hepatic mercapturic acid conjugates and serum alanine transaminase (ALT) levels.
