DL-Acetylshikonin is a bioactive small molecule that induces ER stress to inhibit hepatocellular carcinoma cells expressing HBX protein. It also suppresses eicosanoid production by attenuating cytosolic phospholipase A2 activity and blocking cyclooxygenase and 5-lipoxygenase, making it a useful compound for cancer and inflammation research in vitro.
