Description | Mouse monoclonal to PIAS1.PIAS1 is a member of the PIAS [protein inhibitor of activated STAT (signal transducer and activator oftranscription)] family of transcriptional modulators. PIAS1 functions as an E3 small ubiquitin-likemodifier (SUMO) ligase. It stabilizes the interaction between UBE2I and the substrate, and functionsas a SUMO-tethering factor. PIAS1 plays an important role in the transcriptional regulation ofnumerous cellular pathways, including STAT, NF-B, p53 and the steroid hormone signalingpathways. Recent studies revealed that PIAS1 is an important regulator for innate immunity, inflammatory cytokine signaling and regulatory T cell differentiation. |
